Events In Carson City, NV This Summer

There's always something going on in Carson City, and when summer rolls around, there are even more events and activities to check out. From concert series to brewfests and family-friendly fun, it's easy to fill your calendar in Carson City, Nevada. Take a look at some of the summer events you shouldn't miss.

Levitt AMP Concert Series

The Levitt AMP Concert Series will take place again this summer. It runs from June 25 through Aug. 27 and is a free, family-friendly outdoor series. It all takes place at the Brewery Arts Center, and admission is free. June 25 starts the concert series off with SambaDá, but if you miss the first week, you can also catch Rocky Dawuni, Young Dubliners, Whitney Myer, and Tropa Magica later in the summer. The Vindys will take the stage the last weekend in July, and in August, you can see Bad Mother Nature and Danielle Nicole.

All concerts start at 7 p.m. with the opening act, and the headliner will take the stage at 8 p.m

Carson City Wine Walk

If you're a wine lover, you won't want to miss the weekly Wine Walks in downtown Carson City this summer. You can stroll through the downtown streets, enjoying wine poured from the participating businesses. It's a great way to explore the downtown area, take advantage of special deals, and enjoy some entertainment along the way.

Tickets go on sale at noon on the Saturday before the Wine Walk and can only be purchased online. In order to participate, you must purchase your ticket by 11 a.m. on the day of the event. It's $20 if you need an official Carson City Wine Walk Glass. If you already have the official glass, tickets are $15. Only Official Wine Walk glasses are allowed for the event

2022 Troop 33 8th Annual Car Show

The Boy Scout Troops 33 and 20 out of Carson City will have their Annual "Send a Scout to Camp" Car and Truck Show this summer. It will take place on Aug. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fuji Park. Last year's event was a huge success, with auto enthusiasts showing their vintage cars and trucks and providing stories and information about them.

There will be live auctions throughout the day, and the awards will be given out at 3 p.m.

5th Annual Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival

The 5th Annual Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival will take place on Sunday, July 24, at the Hard Rock Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena. Get your tickets online and get ready to enjoy music from Slightly Stoopid, Dirty Heads, Soja, Tribal Seeds, and many more throughout the day.

Tickets start at $105 for general admission. The Reggae Fest and Bass Camp Fest Combo general admission tickets start at $167, and you can get VIP advance tickets for $170

Jazz & Beyond Music and Art Festival

The Fourth Annual Carson City Open Studios Tour and Jazz & Beyond Music and Art Festival will come to Carson City in August. This event showcases local artists with exhibits at the Bliss Mansion, the NAA Gallery, and other studios around Carson City. The Open Studios tour takes place on Aug. 19 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. A list of the artists and a map of the studio locations will be available before the event, so you can plan your route and determine which studios you don't want to miss.

Movies in the Park

What's better than watching a movie out in the fresh air? Gardnerville's Movies in the Park series starts June 24 and runs through August. The movies begin at dusk, or around 8:30 p.m., when the sun sets behind the mountains, and all the showings are at Heritage Park.

Bring your blanket or your beach chair and set up for a relaxing night watching your favorite family-friendly films. This summer, you can catch Maleficent, The Rookie starring Dennis Quaid, and Jumanji with Robin Williams.

10th Annual Tahoe Blue Vodka Bloody Mary Competition

The original and largest bloody mary competition is back for summer of 2022. The 10th Annual Tahoe Blue Vodka Bloody Mary Competition takes place on Aug. 21 and brings together 15 of the most creative bartenders in the area. The competition and activities take place at Beach Retreat & Lodge at Tahoe, and the bartenders get to use Tahoe Blue Vodka to craft bloody marys on the beaches of Lake Tahoe while you enjoy live music, great drinks, and lots of food options.

Tickets start at $5 for non-drinking, under 21, and designated drivers. A full tasting ticket is $59.50 and allows you to taste the 15 different bloody marys and vote for your favorite.

The event runs from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

2022 Silver State Art Festival

Head to the Fuji Park Exhibit Hall on Old Clear Creek Road from Sept. 9-11 for the Silver State Art Festival. The Nevada Gourd Society hosts this art festival, which features gourd art along with other fine art. Artists will have their work on display and offer it for sale, but if you want to do more than just look at the pieces, you can take a gourd art class and create your own. There will be several classes available during the three-day event.

Admission to this Carson City event is free, and you'll also find plenty of free parking. Proceeds from the festival raffle will go to the Nevada Humane Society, and the Nevada Humane Society is even organizing a pet adoption event that will take place during the festival.
